A Digital 45?
I've always hated the term "dropping" a single or album. Why would you drop something you worked so hard on? And why would you just toss it out to the boundless sea we call the internet with no fanfare or way for your friends to know? When I decided to release one of my most recent tunes, I was looking for a way to do so creatively. Since I was already working on a second tune, I thought, 'Why not release them together?' I decided that I would call one my "A Side" and the other my "B Side." I wasn't planning on releasing an actual record, just sharing it online and via email. I decided to call it my "Digital 45," with a nod to the 7-inch records from my childhood. (read more below)

The songs, "Under the Influence" and “It’s Your Mystery," continue the series of collaborative projects between Phil Henry and George Nostrand. These new releases follows George’s habit of bringing some rough songs to the table, then inviting a number of musicians to add their seasoning.
The Krishna Guthrie Band recorded the scratch tracks with Nostrand in 2022. At the time, George was wearing a cast after a rollerblading incident, (yup, really). The band came to the rescue sketching out a handful of his tunes so he could keep the project going. To keep George working gig-wise, drummer Nicky Fitz and bass player Josh Cote also backed up Nostrand on keyboards to form a new trio.
"The only thing deeper than George's pool of original music is the cast of characters he's assembled to play them through the years,” said Cote. “It was a genuine pleasure and honor to call him a bandmate on this project and join that list.”
Cote dubbed the band, Rutland’s Least Wanted.

Why Rutland’s Least Wanted? It was an inside joke alluding to the fact that despite the fact that they all had been performing regularly, it was almost never in their hometown of Rutland.
Fortunately the trio found work outside of Rutland and even brought along Jesse Peters (George's Back Pocket) who played on "It's Your Mystery" for a couple of gigs.
RLW also started a new tradition by playing in Rutland - at the Vermont State Fairgrounds - for Vintage Market Days twice a year. These events became the highlight of the year for the band.
"There are all kinds of neat things you cand find at VMD," said drummer Nicky Fitzy. "It's such a festive event full of surprises and happy faces."
